No, it was mainly because we don’t announce release dates when we are not sure if we can make it. That’s why the release was announced after freezing and everything was finished, so we were sure we can release then. 
We did the work of multiple weeks in one week (yay, thanks to everybody for that 
), but it wasn’t obvious that we can really finish everything that fast. So it would have been bad to create hope and then say “oh, sorry, we need to delay the release for two weeks”.
