Of course, programmers will almost certainly use desktop machines for development of the diaspora software.
In the real (global) world, most people will use hand-held (mobile) machines, especially phones.
90 % facebook users make access via mobile and my guess is the inverse is true of diaspora users.
Programmers, please review diaspora or read comments of diaspora users in mobile phone view as part of software test process.
