I am looking to develop a blockchain-based social media platform like Facebook with some differences. I want to add text, image, video and file attachments. Users can react, follow and put ads for sponsored posts. I do not want to create the project from scratch; instead, I would like to pick up an open-source project and develop the changes. Does diaspora fit the bill? If it does, where do I find the details? Also, which blockchain does the diaspora use?

I see no point in using a blockchain for social media, or even how. Thus diaspora* does not employ a blockchain. Thus it’s impossible to answer your question because at least in my view the premise of the idea, “combine social media and blockchain”, is nonsensical.
