[Obsolete, please delete] Move discussion from loomio to diaspora*

As a newbie I wonder why I have to register at a service located in New Zealand, which does not guarantee my privacy and data security. Loomio uses software which is prone to several security risks like Cloudflare and services like Gravatar, Google Analytics, Google Font API and Facebook, which track my surfing behaviour and do not respect my privacy.

Why are feature proposals not directly discussed in diaspora*? I cannot find a plausible reason for this. diaspora* already supports discussions and surveys. It would be also a chance to reach the end user better and to be independent of third-party services.

This is no valid answer, because this is just a definition without any reason. In fact, there is absolutely no argument why to use loomio in favour of diaspora*.

One thing D* could use is “groups”. Then there could be a podmin group where such things are discussed. Following hashtags is nice, it’s almost the same mechanism really, but it doesn’t allow you to see other members in the group, and all the posts just go in one sequential thread there. Maybe this is more of a “groups” feature request than anything.

This is now obsolete, since the discussion has been moved to a Discourse instance.
